30-Day Grace Period
The temporary tag is valid for 30 days from the date of sale, giving the dealer time to process the permanent registration on behalf of the customer.
Permanent Registration
Within the 30-day period, the dealer must visit the local license plate agency or tax collector's office to title and permanently register the vehicle for the customer.
